    Triple J Launches Competition to Create Hottest 100 Artwork

    Triple j have launched a competition to find the artwork for the next Hottest 100. It’s the first time the station has opted to crowdsource the artwork. Entries are open now and will close at midnight on Monday, 2nd October.

    To enter, you’ll need to send your design to triplejhottest100comp@your.abc.net.au, along with a short explanation (300 words maximum) about who you are and what inspired your design. The winning artwork will be showcased on all Hottest 100 related things at triple j and ABC – including being emblazoned on the t-shirt.

    Flume: ‘Say Nothing’

    The winner will also take home $3,000 cash. You can read through all the terms and conditions of the competition on the website.

    “Triple J has always been about giving a platform to creativity: from backing in new Australian music and unearthing the brightest emerging talent to getting Dr. Karl to answer some of your truly warped questions,” triple j manager Lachie Macara said in a statement.

    “We’re looking forward to having our inbox flooded with designs by up-and-coming artists from right around the country.”

    The Hottest 100 of 2023 will take place at the end of January next year. Flume and MAY-A took out the top spot in 2022 countdown with their collaborative track ‘Say Nothing’.

      Back in "the day" we DJ's had so many choices for music but now many of those sources have went out of business which included my favorite source which was TM Studios (Prime Cuts). I have tried other sources like Soundcloud, Beatsource, TIDAL, etc.. and recently found myself back to Prime Cuts competitor which is Promo Only.  I had both at one time to compare the difference...  Promo Only was nice but more expensive the Prime Cuts and the music I was requested to play was mostly on a Prime Cuts release more then Promo Only but that was years ago. Today I signed up for a year of Silver Membership on Promo Only for $450

      I still use my Allen & Heath ZED10fx which works great for small gig that they want to use a couple mics, guitar, drums OR if you are just playing music from your laptop via the USB connection. I carry it around with its power cord in a thomson hard flight case.  Its light and I can leave the mixer in the case if I prefer.

      Here is a overdue follow up on how the EVERSE 8 is...   one word..  awesome! PLENTY of sound and lasts hours and hours and hours.  Great sound and perfect for a ceremony or small get together of 30 or less Bluetooth worked awesome so I played music from my iPad running djay software.  I also plugged into the audio input jack a battery powered lapel mic and that worked great as well.  For portable or small jobs, you really can't go wrong with this EV speaker.

      When using Virtual DJ and the Allen & Heath ZED10fx you must configure it like shown below to get deck2 through the headphones on the MacBook When do I use the ZED10fx? When I need to plug in lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and a mic
