The band will appear on Friday, 23rd February, with the orchestral arrangements spearheaded by renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist Miguel Atwood Ferguson. Hiatus will play a range of tracks from across their three albums – 2012’s Tawk Tomahawk, 2015’s Choose Your Weapon, and 2021’s Mood Valiant – and have promised to preview some unreleased material as well. The Hamer Hall set follows similar shows at the Sydney Opera House earlier this year, and at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Flying Lotus in 2022. Hiatus Kaiyote: ‘Red Room’ “After orchestra shows at Hollywood Bowl and Sydney Opera House we’re thrilled to bring them to our hometown,” the band shared in a statement. “It will be a dream to perform these stunning arrangements in the Hamer Hall, we can’t wait to share this experience with you.” 2021’s Mood Valiant was a long-awaited album from the band, arriving six years after the huge success of Choose Your Weapon. Between the two albums, frontman Nai Palm released a debut solo album, and also battled breast cancer. “When you think your life is going to be taken away from you, it makes you think about who you are,” Palm said about returning for Mood Valiant. “I guess after the breast cancer scare I decided that I needed to prove to life that the offering I have is genuine. My only wish is to live and offer my experience of time and beauty.” Further Reading REVIEW: Hiatus Kaiyote – Enmore Theatre Sydney, 18/12/2021 Hiatus Kaiyote Deliver A Magical Tiny Desk (Home) Concert Listen To Hiatus Kaiyote’s New Song, ‘Chivalry Is Not Dead’ The post Hiatus Kaiyote to Perform with the Dreamboat Orchestra at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall appeared first on Music Feeds.
